This policy explains what data dukegames.dev ("the site") collects from visitors, subscribers, and anyone who contacts us, and why. DukeGames is an independent game studio; we are not a licensed legal service, and this page is written in plain language rather than formal legal text — if you need something more formal for your own compliance purposes, please contact us.

What we collect, and why

Cookies and analytics consent
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how people find and use the site. In line with Google's Consent Mode, analytics cookies are only set after you click "Accept" on the cookie banner. If you click "Decline", no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is collected for your visit. Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage so we don't ask again — you can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for dukegames.dev.
Third parties we use
- Google Analytics — anonymized traffic analytics, only after consent.
- Google reCAPTCHA — spam protection on the contact form.
- Mailchimp — stores and sends to your email if you subscribe to the newsletter.
- EmailJS — relays contact form submissions to our inbox.
Each of these third parties processes data under their own privacy policy; we only send them the minimum needed for the feature above.
Data retention
Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Contact form messages are kept as long as needed to respond to you. Analytics data (only collected with consent) follows Google Analytics' standard retention settings.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how it's processed. Email dukedrissdev@gmail.com and we'll act on it as quickly as we can.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
